Welcome message for INTERGEO CONFERENCE 2026

Dear Visitors,

I warmly welcome you to the INTERGEO CONFERENCE 2026 in Munich. As President of the DVW e.V. – Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation, and Land Management – I am delighted that the national and international geoinformation community is once again gathering to discuss developments, innovations, and the future of our industry.

The challenges of our time highlight just how crucial geoinformation is to societal developments today. Whether it’s climate change adaptation, resilient infrastructure, sustainable urban development, mobility, or digital governance, geodata forms the foundation for informed decisions and sustainable solutions.

Our conference program reflects this as well. Over the course of these three days, the focus will be on topics such as digital twins, artificial intelligence, BIM, smart cities, modern sensor systems, Earth observation, geodata infrastructures, and current developments in engineering geodesy and geoinformation management.

Special emphasis is also placed on the next generation of scientists. With the FroGS – Forum for Young Geospatial Scientists format, the INTERGEO CONFERENCE offers young scientists their own platform to present current research and innovative approaches and to engage in dialogue with representatives from academia, industry, and the field.

It is this interdisciplinary dialogue that has made INTERGEO an international meeting place for the geo-community for many years and an important driving force for the further development of our industry.
