INTERGEO 2025 sets the pace: Shaping the future with Geo-AI, data sovereignty, and reality capturing

Frankfurt am Main, 09.10.2025.         For three days, Frankfurt was the global hub of the geoinformation industry. With over 18.500 visitors from 119 countries, 530 exhibitors and more than 1.200 conference participants from 52 countries, INTERGEO 2025 once again demonstrated: it is more than just a trade fair and conference – it is the platform shaping the future of an entire industry.

With over 100 speakers, the INTERGEO CONFERENCE, organized by DVW e.V., once again set benchmarks. The spotlight was on the issues driving the international community: Geo-AI, digital twins, earth observation, unmanned systems, BIM, geoinformation, open data, and data sovereignty.

The conference program was enriched by the scientific symposium FroGS (Frontiers of Geodetic Science). The German Cartographic Society (DGfK), which hosted its 72nd German Cartography Congress at INTERGEO, seamlessly integrated its focus topics on AI and smart mapping into the CONFERENCE.

“INTERGEO 2025 in Frankfurt impressively demonstrated the strength and innovative power of our industry and reaffirmed its role as the leading platform for shaping a sustainable, digital future,” said Prof. Dr.-Ing. Rudolf Staiger, President of DVW e.V. – Society for Geodesy, Geoinformation and Land Management and organizer of INTERGEO. “Geodata combined with artificial intelligence is the key to tackling the major challenges of our time – from climate adaptation to the energy transition. At the same time, validation is gaining importance. This is precisely where INTERGEO comes in – as a platform to jointly address these scientific, ethical, and legal issues.”

At INTERGEO, it became clear how technology is being transformed directly into applications:

  • Earth Observation Sessions (in cooperation with DLR) presented climate strategies ranging from early wildfire detection to flood protection.

  • Digital twins and BIM demonstrated how infrastructures can be designed to be resilient and construction processes can be optimized efficiently.

  • Scanning and surveying technologies provided precision in measurement and 3D modeling.

INTERGEO 2025 also showed a clearer structure than in previous years, introducing new formats that sharpened its profile and made industry topics even more tangible:

  • The Application Dome with practical solutions from smart cities, construction, mobility, and energy,

  • The Main Stage focusing on Geo-AI, sensor integration, and workflows,

  • Reality Capturing, conceptually integrated for the first time across the CONFERENCE, both EXPO stages, and the Reality Capturing Podcast Studio, realized in cooperation with partner congress 3DISE,

  • The premiere of the Real Estate Lab, connecting geodata and AI for the real estate industry,

  • The start-up area, providing visibility for young companies,

  • The GeoCampus, bringing together talent, science, and industry.

“INTERGEO 2025 has once again demonstrated how geoinformation combines innovation, responsibility, and market opportunities. AI is the current driver of solutions and the enabler of new applications. With the EXPO stages, we showcased cutting-edge innovations and opened perspectives for countless use cases,” said Olaf Freier, CEO of HINTE Expo & Conference GmbH. He added: “Reality Capturing is the next big topic, unlocking new potential. For me, one thing has become clear: data is not just a resource, it is a responsibility.”

With its focus on AI, data sovereignty, and digital realities, INTERGEO 2025 not only reflected current trends but marked the transition into a new phase: moving from knowledge transfer to actively shaping a sustainable, digital future.

Save the Date: INTERGEO 2026 will take place from September 15–17, 2026 in Munich.

Voices of INTERGEO Platinum Sponsors

Joe Speicher, Chief Sustainability Officer, Autodesk: “At INTERGEO we see how companies are bridging the gap between sustainable ambitions and concrete action. Europe continues to lead the way in sustainability, and we need to adopt a more pragmatic approach to reducing carbon emissions in the built environment and rethinking how we design and build.”

Jürgen Schomakers, CEO, Esri Germany: “Once again, INTERGEO 2025 has demonstrated how strongly our industry is evolving toward interdisciplinary solutions. This cross-sector collaboration is crucial for addressing complex challenges in a sustainable way. It became especially clear that GIS today is far more than just a tool for professionals: with ArcGIS, we enable intuitive, participatory processes and, thanks to GeoAI, AI assistants, and AI agents, we position ourselves as the leading geospatial AI platform that connects diverse disciplines and fields. INTERGEO impressively underscored this, and I am proud to be part of such a strong community.”

Henning Sandfort, President Hexagon Geosystems and CEO of Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon: "At INTERGEO, the geospatial and geodetic community comes together to discuss trends and to experience technology transforming into practical solutions. It’s the perfect stage for innovations such as our all-new Leica TS20 - the first AI-powered total station on the market. For our team, presenting our newest solutions here and engaging directly with customers from diverse markets is incredibly motivating and enriching."

Boris Skopljak, Vice President Geospatial Sector, Trimble: "The convergence of cloud and AI is transforming the industry. Trimble continues to innovate in both hardware and software, enhancing daily productivity for surveyors and contractors. We focus on creating connected, AI-enhanced workflows from the field to the office. This approach empowers our customers by streamlining processes, reducing rework and ensuring data flows easily where it’s needed most, giving them a distinct operational advantage."
