As Europe’s leading conference for geodesy, geoinformation and land management, INTERGEO brings together renowned experts from academia, industry, public administration and business. Over three days, the conference will showcase the latest developments, innovative technologies and practical applications covering GeoAI, Digital Twins, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Earth Observation, modern geospatial data infrastructures, surveying and positioning technologies.
A Strong Opening for Innovation
The conference will begin with a strong focus on innovation and the exchange between research and practice. The official opening ceremony, the presentation of the DVW Future Award, and the keynote "GIS – Creating a More Intelligent World" by Jack Dangermond, President of Esri, will set the stage for three inspiring days of knowledge sharing and future-oriented discussions.

Artificial Intelligence is Transforming the Geospatial Industry
One of the conference's key focus areas is GeoAI.
Several sessions on Wednesday will highlight the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence for geospatial applications—from scientific research and remote sensing to practical business use cases.
The discussions will focus on how AI enables spatial analysis, supports data-driven decision-making and creates new opportunities for infrastructure, public administration and industry.
Digital Twins Become Reality
Digital Twins are among the major innovation drivers of this year's conference.
Several sessions on the first conference day will explore their potential for infrastructure, utilities and municipal applications.
In his presentation "From Smartphone to Digital Twin: Efficient As-Built Documentation for Utility Construction", Matthias Knuhr (Gelsenwasser AG) will demonstrate how modern data capture technologies create the foundation for accurate Digital Twins in utility infrastructure.
Additional sessions will present practical implementations such as the Digital Twin of Munich, emerging geospatial data platforms and approaches for connecting planning, operations and sustainable resource management through intelligent geospatial data.
The programme is complemented by sessions on Extended Reality and Smart Geodata, demonstrating how immersive technologies and intelligent data environments are converging.
BIM, Earth Observation, Digital Sovereignty and the Real Estate Lab
The second conference day focuses on the digital transformation of construction, infrastructure and public administration.
Sessions including Geodesy & BIM, Connecting BIM and GIS (presented by buildingSMART Germany) and 3D Building Permits illustrate how digital planning, approval and construction processes are becoming increasingly integrated.
Earth Observation for crisis management is another key topic.
In his presentation "Efficient Crisis Management through Earth Observation and Innovative Technologies – A Practical Report from the Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG)", Dr Martin Lenk demonstrates how geospatial data and Earth Observation support rapid and reliable situational awareness during emergencies.
The programme is further enhanced by the Real Estate Lab, connecting the real estate sector with innovative geospatial applications. Among the highlights is the presentation of the White Paper developed during INTERGEO 2025.
New in 2026, the morning sessions will be open to all conference participants, followed by an exclusive expert workshop in the afternoon.
From Autonomous Systems to AI in Municipalities
The third conference day opens with the high-level panel discussion "AdV – Fit for the Future!", focusing on the future of Germany's official geoinformation authorities.
The programme continues with sessions addressing the challenges and opportunities of digital public administration, including the further development of GeoBasisDE as a future-proof geospatial data architecture and the application of Artificial Intelligence in municipalities.
Parallel sessions cover hydrographic engineering surveying, navigation, mobile mapping and autonomous systems.
A Stage for the Next Generation of Researchers
Running alongside the main conference programme, the Frontiers of Geodetic Science (FroGS) provides an international platform for early-career researchers to present their latest scientific work and engage with experts from academia, industry and public administration.
